Ok, every time I read this I get the Byrds tune stuck in my head (no offense to Dylan)......

Intro: E Esus4 (repeat 4 times)

E C#m Abm
Crimson flames tied through my ears
A B E
Rollin' high and mighty traps
E C#m Abm
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
A B
Using ideas as my maps
C#m Abm
"We'll meet on edges, soon," said I
A B
Proud 'neath heated brow.
E A E
Ah, but I was so much older then,
A B E (intro riff twice)
I'm younger than that now.

Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
"Rip down all hate," I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic facts [flanks] of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

It used to read: "I wish I was where I was, when I wished I was where I am now.'. Now if I could create some prose which would end with it.......

I used the Dylan line in a response to a post, so I thought I would let it run for awhile. It becomes more relevant as we age. Young people who think they've learned everything there is to learn, ought to contemplate those words deeply.

Here is one of my other custom Strat Plus builds. This is a 1993 CRIMSON BURST STRAT PLUS DELUXE that is wired like a like an double Ultra using the two Chrome Domes Duallys, one in the neck and one in the bridge, both with the 3-way Mini Switch. You can get a mulitude of sounds out of this guitar by selecting any pickup or combinations of pickups. Like a Les Paul to a Strat. The Ash top and back is beautiful. This is one of my favorite colors. The neck is a Blue/Hot Gold and the bridge is a Red/Red Chrome Domes.

Man the serial number on this Firestorm is unreal! Such a low number. One does not see that very often! Cool....

Hey Jeff, good to see your fine work here on the forum. I was driven back here in response to a project I did and I was geeked to see your work posted here. Of course I've seen your work for quite a while now and as always, quality stuff and great looking gear.

We worked together on a 60 Reissue Custom Shop that I customized a bit ago. You handled the H/S/H chrome domes set up that was just crazy. That guitar had more tone options than anything I've seen. I have a 96 Anniversary MIJ Tele that I may need that Burton setup for soon.

Hope to talk to you soon.
Dave

Great to hear from you Dave. I missed this post on this thread. Do you still have the H/S/H setup???? Great to see you on here.

Hey Jeff. No that was built as a project to be sold, although I do miss it. I just found this killer looking Warmoth Strat body though that may need the same treatment. It's black with a clear tape masked binding in Red Quilted Maple. When it arrives I'm either going to love it or hate it, but me thinks its going to be cool. I bought the three ply Blk/Red/Blk Pickguard and my plan is make her H/S/H. Maybe we can team build those electronics again.

In the mean time, and just consider this a commerical while we await the next episode of Ceri's Monster Guitar Garage, here is a shot of that H/SH Strat that Xhefri is talking about. This is a 1960 Custom Shop FMT with an interesting history hence the custom electronics. Also interesting was that Fender shows this as a Flame Maple top although to me it looks more quilted.

Man, NICE...I love flame!!!!! So did I wire that for you or did you have someone else do it? Also where did you get a pickguard with lace routes for both neck and bridge????

Yes, you did the wiring on this one. I sent you the pickguard and the Lace Pups and the dream and you made it happen. We talked for a while about this one. The body had been routed by a previous owner into a swimming pool, so to take advantage of all that space I decided that I wanted the 5-chrome dome look. The humbuckers are Lace Arena's and the middle a chrome dome. reverse wound.

The 3 way mini switches control the Humbuckers and splits each one so, up = forward pup, middle = both and down = back pup. Upper switch controls the neck pup and the lower one for the bridge.

The 5 way is super switch and is standard switching except in the middle it turns on the neck + bridge like a Les Paul.

No load tone pot for the bridge and middle pups to bypass the tone control alltogether @ 10. Middle tone control is standard to control the neck pup. This means that the neck and middle or the neck and bridge could use both tone controls to shape the tone. Then add in the mini switches to turn on or off parts of the humbucker and you finally have total chaos or confusion, but a lot of tonal options to play with.

For the folks here on the forum, my man here knows his way around a soldering iron. Thanks again for making that one happen.

Not the best photo, but all I have of this one.

Wow, that's getting bad. I forgot I wired this! I have done so many guitars that after a while it is a blur! i did one almost like this for the Director of Performing Arts in Brooklyn, NY. I remember that one because we redid it 2 times to get it the way he liked it. Infact the humbuckers I used on this build and the one with the maple neck came off the original one I did for him. He liked the lace Dually's better than two humbuckers. I found using one humbucker and one dually is the best! talk about nice blues/jazz tone in the neck! WoW. I think I will go play mine right now! Good thing I live way out in the woods! I can play as late and loud as I want!!!

Take care and nice reconnecting!

Cool thread and I like your website. Furthermore, that is a fine Strat plus in your profile pic. I'd like to get my hands on one of those in the future. Thanks.
