That DeVille amp looks the part also. I was reviewing the specs of the Hot Rods and they look quite impressive. Is yours the four or two speaker version? and how do you like it?
You were mentioning my silverface ProReverb. Thats another item that I have only had for a few months. The original owner had passed on and I purchased it through a local music store from his widow. The total price was $700. Canadian, about $740AUD.
To give you an idea of local prices. I purchased the Strat about a week ago from Steves Music, Montreal. Base price including a premium for Sunburst was $1279.CAN. Then add the cursed sales tax/VAT/ the total came up to$1443.CAN.About $1500AUD. The store then gave me a $100 credit note for instore purchases, no time limit, plus if I visit the store once a month for 12months they will give me ten free pics each visit.
I am satisfied. New was the only way for me on this purchase as i have had my share of bad second hand deals over the years. i think you have to be pretty astute to know if a second hand guitar is the real deal or not. On the other hand with the amp purchase I was pretty confident I was getting an original untouched item. This has proved to be the case.
