That's the downside to the BBCode the forum uses. When you put an 8 and a ) next to each other you get --> 8)

Either that, or those are simply ... cool colors!

Nice looking guitar, man. Congrats!

So when it says:
Pickups: 3 American Standard Strat Single Coils

...are those pickups Alnico and are they based on any particular era of Strat pickup?

The American Standard Strat single coils (sometimes erroneously referred to as "Delta-Tones") use ALNICO V magnets and plastic bobbins. They are not based on any particular era and have been standard issue until 2012 when Fender switched to the Custom Shop Fat 50's.

(edited for spelling)

Smiley faces? I don't see any smiley faces :) Are you referring to the asterisks --> ** . An asterisk is used to indicate a note at the bottom of the description.

Dela Tone? Never heard that before. :? Do you mean "Delta Tone"? Delta tone refers to the tone control circuit, not the pickups.

The specs sheet erroneously cites late 1999 as the year during which the DeltaTone has been introduced on the American Standards. It's a misinformation as the DeltaTone system was introduced in 1997.
