sup guys? i have a mim hss strat and its a pretty cool guitar. my only one lol.

my rig is really jsut the guitar and a pod xt live.

the pickups in my guitar are stock.. and not too great aha. i need new pickups but only ahve the money for one new one right now.

i use my humbucker and neck pickup about equal amounts of time.

i play; lincoln brewster, a7x, srv, lots of classic rock, really everything. but my main styles are blues and metal. obviously for metal i use the humbucker and for blues i use either the neck or the neck plus middle.

which should i upgrade first, the neck or bridge pickup?

Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates at the bridge.

You pretty much can't go wrong with that one.

The DiMarzio Super Distortion is also a great classic choice for the bridge

so i take it you vote the bridge? haha. ok

i need some bridge humbucker suggestions. i have a strat. i wanna play rock mainly. right now my main model on my pod xt live is an ac30 one with a big muff fuzz in front of it. i get a nice nasty classic rock sound.

but heres the thing, i have to be able to get the pickup under 50 on ebay

I don't do eBay.

Too many crooks resting on the laurels of their so-called feedback which means nothing to me except they've got people who will agree to try to convince you they're on the up & up.

It may not be a popular opinion but it has the virtue of being the truth.

Nuf sed.

Predominantly Metal and Blues; interesting.

Start in reverse: What do you LIKE about the neck and the bridge pickup which you would NOT want to lose if exchanging the pickup? Next, what do you feel each is LACKING? Be specific as to each pickup.

I guess i dont really have that much of a problem with the neck. its lacking something, but not as much as the bridge. i use the neck clean, and the bridge when dirty. the bridge however, is lacking punch, ooomf, power, clarity, and stuff like that.

so im 14, and dont have much money. in my bank account i have $60 and 23 cents haha.

so i would have to get something with that. thats why i thought ebay.

im still deciding on getting either a new pickup or an xbox classic from a friend for $50. but i think a pickup would be more worth it

It means the lead wire is only 6 inches long. What they were getting at is that it might have to be spliced (lengthened).

I'm 100% in agreement with you on this. I've seen plenty of people who get ripped of come thru my shop and tell the horror stories about deals made on eBay.

Personally, I think a Pearly Gates may be a bit to trebly for your stated purpose(s). If you want my opinion, within your price range, a (used) DiMarzio Super Distortion would do quite nicely. Be advised though, and the same holds true for a Duncan, you may have to drill an extra hole in your pickguard to mount it.
