I have a soft V neck on my American Deluxe, and I've just never adjusted to it, would like to replace it with a C shaped neck. The thing is, it has the contoured heel (2008 Am. Dlx)...

Anyone ever replace one of these necks? Any gotcha's that I should know about?

Also, open to recommendations...would love a fender neck, but can't find one. Thinking USACG or Warmouth...thoughts?

I hear nothing but good things about USACG. I'm am wondering if it's tricky to fit a neck on this guitar. The one screw is offset from the others to accommodate the countour

Actually, and to the best of my recollection, as far as the neck itself is concerned, the heels on the standard vs. the contoured heels Strats are the identical with the only difference being the placement of that left, upper screw hole. Meaning, the other three screw holes are the same. So, if you can deal with an extra screw hole showing in the heel of your neck (or you could even have it camouflaged), that opens up a whole world of genuine Fender neck replacement possibilities for you.
