Anyone out there played or owned a Robin Trower Custom Shop Stratocaster? I would like some feedback on the pros and cons of this instrument and its features.
I am looking for a guitar to play his style of music as well as traditional blues.

To me, it played like any other better 70s Strat which retained some late 60s hardware and features (locking tuners withstanding). Personally, I can't fathom the pickup combination but that's just me.

IMO, no way on this planet is that guitar worth $3K.

If I was that into Trower (which I'm not), I'd buy a 72 RI and modify it accordingly or to where it would be more useful to me. I know one thing's for sure, I'd get off at least $2K cheaper! YMMV.
