Alright-
My dad just died and I'm trying to get all of his guitars indexed. He's got this natural finish strat. Based off of my research, this is an American made strat that was made in 1997. The serial is N7326334. However, there are so many strats made in America around this time. Does anyone know specifically what kind of strat this is? Deluxe, american, elite deluxe etc. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

$500 for an nice condition MIA Strat? That sounds a tad low to me. Just my opinion ...

The California Series serial started with AMNX on the models I've seen. going by your serial you have an American Standard. In excellent condition the guitar is valued between $675 and $825 US according to Vintage guitar price guide. My condolences on your loss.

thanks so much guys....wow-fender does really have the best forums. Yes-I don't think it's a california strat based off of what other people have said, what I 've researched and the fact that there is no CS on the plate. The pickguard has some heavy scratches on it but all the hardware is original so I think I'm going to value it at 650 ish. Thanks again...but if anyone has anything to add please do!

I'd say that this is a USA Standard Strat. The 2 string trees are the giveaway. Fender made these from 1986-2000 then replaced it with the American Series Strat when they reverted to a single sting tree. The American Series was replaced by the current American Standarcd in 2008.

well in the current bluebook value it says a 1997 american standard fender in 98% near mint would be worth $850 + 10% for the unique natural finish. So I'm going to say like 900 for a sale price....I just don't know if that's realistic. Blue book is one thing....the actual market is another I guess. Maybe $800. Right? Thanks again everyone for being so great.

Welcome to the Forum. I am sure that my colleagues here share my deepest sympathies on your loss. Hopefully, any future inquiries you make herein will be on a lighter note.

With regard to your query. This is is likely a maple neck version of a guitar I onced owned and of which I have written about in the past. It is the guitar I dropped an EMG DG-20 pickguard into. Looked awesome with it. It's a natural finish version of the American Standard, a limited edition series, with respect to finish, I believe. The neck on mine was rosewood. Guitar has a swimming pool rout, and Deltatone electronics.

I bought mine at Alto Music, in Middletown NY, in the summer of that year. The dealer remarked that the guitar ahd just been put on display. Didn't last long. 8).
