I am changing out the humbucker on my MIA HSS. I am looking at a Seymour Duncan JB and a Trembucker. Iam also considering a Dimarzio Air Norton. I play mostly a jazz/blues style and vintage rock & roll. My amp is a Vox. I do not use effects often, and prefer just a little reverb. That's the main reason for wanting a hotter humbucker. Thanks.

I almost put in an Air Norton into my project Strat bridge. I ended up putting in a Dimarzio PAF Pro. It is a nice well-rounded, punchy but not over-powered pickup, very "creamy". In the neck I put in a Dimarzio PAF Joe (Satriani). The PAF Pro would work well in your application.

Just a thought ..

I'm using a JB (SH4) in one of my Strats and it's really a great sounding pickup with clear pinch harmonics and great sustain.

I bought a Strat where the previous owner had changed the bridge to a JB. I almost always do pickup changes as a matter or routine but I left it alone, it really is a nice pickup. I have an Air Norton in the neck of one of my Ibanez guitars and it does nothing for me. I'd do a PAF Pro before the Air Norton if forced to choose betwen those two.

I have a PAF Pro in my strat also. Very 80's sounding pickup. I am considering moving it to the neck and putting a Norton in the bridge and obviously converting it to an HSH.

On the DiMarzio forum the concensus is that the PAF Pro is a better neck pickup. Alot of people seem to like the Norton in the bridge. Air Norton can go either way.

Can't go wrong with that JB! Custom 5 is another great SD pup.

Ditto, I have one in my mahogany HSS and I love it.
