I am looking for a pickup that has a vintage strat tone, but with really good harmonics, and no hum.

I think John Fru... (Im not even gonna try to spell his name) uses either an all stock 62 or 57 reissue. Just do some research.

I'm pretty sure his is totally stock but if you want no hum play in positon 2 ( middle and bridge) so it will cancel it out. The other option is to get a single coil sized humbucker (if you want to keep the look of a strat and don't want to mess with either cutting the bridge hole larger or buying a new pickguard) or a full size.

I like the tone of the stock 62 pickups, but i think it still has the hum, and I don't really like using the quacky sound of the 2 and 4 positions. I kinda like the duncan designed hr-101. It is like the hot rails, but with more output and is cheaper. How good is the harmonics for these or the hot rails?

Got 2 of the old Seymour Duncans 2BN (?) or something to that effect. One the ohm reading was 19. the other was over 20. Shred with power.
