I wanted to come to the forum for a reccomendation, I am the lead guitarist for a band. Im going for a real bluesy funky sound.
I play two mexican strats, both of which im going to replace with new pickups(one with the texas specials, and the other with vintage 69's) and my question is, im also looking for an amp to accompany me with this transition, I now play a Fender Champion 30, which doesent provide enough power or tone for my liking. I really do like the way that the two rocks sound, but they are way too far out of my price range, does anybody know if fender supplies anything similiar or have any other suggestions?

My suggestion is go down to your local music store(s) and try out a bunch of amps that are in your price range.

I play a lot of blues so I use a Peavey Delta Blues Amp. For 30 watts it puts out a lot sound and has great bottom end. It has a 16" speaker that is great.

My only complaint is that my reverb tank, "Tanked."

I've had the amp about 5 years.

Josh,

As a tired old blues player of almost 4 decades, I have searched high and low for what I perceived to be perfect blues tone. I have demo’ed more amps than carter has liver pills during my search and endured a lot of frustration along the way. I have finally concluded, at least for me, my 92 strat plus with gold lace sensors and tbx tone control played through my tired old twin reverb provides a satisfying blues tone (creamy but not too thick, sparkling but not too shrill). It took effort and patience to dial in a setting that tonally worked for me without resorting to pedals or pickup modifications. I can only hope the grass under my feet remains green for at least a while. Give the gold lace sensor pups a test ride, combined with a tbx control you might like the rseulting tonal possibilities.... Good Luck and welcome to the quest for tone...

Try the Blues Deville 4x10. Good funk clean and enough grit for blues.
