has anyone used the ghs david gilmour signature strat strings? My local shop doesn't have any I was thinking about ordering some online. Does anyone know how they'd compare to the regular set of 10s i've always used?

I thought they were run-of-the-mill strings, which just a unique choice of non-standard string gauges for the set. I could be wrong, though ...

the unique string gauges is what I was wondering about.

They're just a set of Boomers with specific gauges. The GHS website has more detail, including the gauges of each string.

David would mix and match his strings. They are basically ghs boomers with heavy tops. I didn't like the feel of that, and I think they kind of dulled out quickly.

nikininja makes a case elsewhere for string balance which can be achieved with a hybrid set like the Gilmour. Have a look at the string gauge thread below.

I wonder if Gilmour prefers the heavier gauge strings for some of the lower register work he does.

This is total nonsense as even the old Vanhalen strings were nothing but Boomers. I can see if you want a mixed gauge set but the strings themselves are just money in a players pocket.
