Interesting guitarist, thanks Mike. :)
Here's a young fellow from Gatineau, Québec. He's nineteen years old now. The first 45 seconds are an introduction to the public because it was his debut three years ago. Hope you like it. See ya. :)

I play jazz with a strat.
you just set your amp to a low setting and if you know how to play jazz on any electric guitar you should know how to play jazz on a strat.
Also have you seen Jhon Mayer.he has used a strat and most of his music is jazzy

I admit, my 335 or 150 Gibson use to get used for Jazz most of the time, until this guitar was built:

What is that guitar and how is it modified. It's a beautiful Strat. Did you do the work yourself?

Hey Russ, Yes, I mess around with some custom wiring and building. This Strat is a black 1995 Strat Plus Deluxe with the Floyd Rose II bridge and a DiMarzio PAF Classic Humbucker (DP194N) in the neck position. The rest of the guitar is wired like a Fender Strat Ultra, using Lace Sensor Chrome Domes (Hot gold middle and Red in the Bridge) it can get all those traditional Strat honks and quacks and even to some nice Telecaster voices, plus those Gibson/PRS sounds in the neck...

You can see more about this guitar (and others) at:

http://xhefriguitars.com/page5.html

also I have some shots of it being wired at the bottom of this webpage:

http://xhefriguitars.com/page15.html

Currently working on another one like it in Rosewood fretboard. thanks for your interest!

There's a Toronto jazz guitarist named Ed Rickert who has used nothing but the same Tele for 40yrs or more and he gets amazing jazz tones from the Tele with the stock single coils. He's always in demand on both sides of the border,he's Canada's unsung jazz great.
