HELLO FROM GREECE ,

I HAVE A FENDER STRATOCASTER(MADE IN MEXICO). I ENJOY PLAYING HEAVY METAL (IRON MAIDEN) AND PROGRESSIVE METAL (DREAM THEATER). I CONSIDER OF REPLACING THE PICKUPS BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT IT IS BEST FITTED WITH MY STRATOCASTER,I HAVE NOW A SEYMOUR DUNCAN INVADER ON THE BRIDGE POSITION BUT EVEN IT PLAYS WELL I THINK THAT I RAPE THIS GUITAR WITH THAT PICKUP AND THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OUTPUTS OF THE INVADER IN CONTRAST WITH THE SINGLE COILS (NECK AND MIDDLE) CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE.

That Invader is a high-output pickup, for sure.

If the output difference between it and the stock single coils are a problem, you may either 1) replace the stock single coils with high-output pickups.
2) only use that humbucker.
3) try to lower the humbucker and raise the others to more balance the volumes.

I installed a DiMarzio super distortion in the bridge position of my strat and it sounds good with the 2 single coils. I don't think the Super Distortion is a high-output pup, but I could be wrong.

But if you want Iron Maiden's sound this is a great humbucker. Especially since Dave Murry uses it in his strat. Along with a DiMarzio PAF in the neck position.

Good luck.

With the Super Distortion I can gets ome pretty heavy sounds. Such as Metallica, Maiden and older Megadeth. It also sounds good for classic rock such as Boston and Kiss. I'm not sure if it will do the job for the real heavy stuff.

If you are looking to play music such as Korn and Slipnot you might need something different. I'm sure it also has alot to do with what amp and effects pedals you use as well.

For this type of music I'll usually pull out my Explorer. I can get a lot heavier with this guitar than the Strat.

But overall I'd say the Super Distortion is a great pickup and well worth taking a look at.
