Ok this is just for the single single single pickup combination set up on a Strat only.

Q:
What is your most preferred pickup on this combination, Neck, Middle, or Bridge and give a brief story as to why?

Cheers

Danelectro, watkins and burns all did 3 singlecoil pickup guitars as did many other firms.

Are you asking which pickup selection is our favorite? Mine is my neck pickup. For everything else, I prefer the tele.

thats an odd question because noone would only ever use one pickup and the whole point of a strat is thats its versatile for playing in a variety of different styles and achieving a wide array of sounds to suit....

Neck 90% of time. With an Area '61 I play the bridge for cut through with massive distortion.

Absolutely. Why limit your pallette to just one or two selections. Personaly I dont think stock strat wiring has enough tonal options. I go through atleast 2 on a solo and 5 during the rest of the song.

Yeah ok, My question may sound odd to some. I'll wear that!!!

Over the years of playing and speaking with different muso's I have come to realise that when the conversation of preferred pickup sound pops up, most people prefer the NECK pup just as I do.

Yes it is nice to have a different selection of tones, but most people always go back to that one pickup..

No worries.

Heh, it must be a hemisphere thing. I always go back to the bridge pickup. ;)

I love em all, cause they are all different. i will switch (during the song) between bridge and mid/neck, neck while playing Satch. Some of teh lead parts of Always with me sounds better when on the bridge, but some parts sound better on the neck... sounds a little warmer.

Love em all, don't make just one ya favorite

Peace,
84
