Cool. I was at my local guitar shop yesterday seeing if they had one. They said they can order it. I explained to them what I needed, as far as it being rounded in the middle for the dually, and they were going to see about ordering it and calling me back to let me know how much. So I don't know how long that will take them, but hopefully not too long. If they come back back with a really high price I might look at Ebay. Only thing about ebay and making sure the holes line up because I don't want to have to add holes to the body to get it to fit.

If you got one you don't need I'll be glad to take it off your hands, just let me know how much. BTW, I dig your website. I posted a message in the guest book years ago asking about the vaule on my 88 pewter strat plus.

From what I was told, the ones I have was the last of these in Fender's Custom Shop. They stopped using the Laces around 1999 with the introduction of the new Noiseless Pickups, thus they phased out these guards. but then maybe they would cut one off a template or still have some kicking around. I got a stack of these from a guy who had a friend who worked at Fender CS. Think I have about 15 left. Let me see what I paid for them and I will send you a message.

have a great one!

i'd really like to see a silverburst stratocaster, i know gibson and epiphone offer them on sg's and lespauls, but i think a strat would look really good with something like that one it.

Here's a color you don't find any more. Ocean Turquoise - 62 re-issue.
My favorite.

The one I want to see, but will probably have to paint it myself is the old Gretsch color of Cadillac Green. I always loved that color on the Gretsch's, and wondered why Fender never came out with a similar color.

You don't have to paint yourself that kind of Strat if you like Eric Clapton's model;

It is called Candy Green and very similar (?) to Gretsch Cadillac Green.
Fender's Sherwood Green on American Vintages is also close.

I do like the Sherwood Green, but neither is quite right, and I'd like the rosewood fretboard, so the EC is out. That's not to mention the fact that my wife would be none too happy if I came home with another guitar just because I liked the color :wink: . I do have a spare body & MIM electronics, and I'm picking up a used pearloid pickguard today, so this thread may just have spurred me on enough to make this my snowy-day project.

And lastly, I know there was another thread on Chinese ripoffs, but does anyone have any insight into the Ebay vendor "Stratosphere"? They seem to be advertising lots of "Original Fender" stuff, and I do need a neck.

Then I think that could be the way to go... just grab some nice neck and assemble the axe 8) , good Strat for low price.
