Fender bodies are 45/46mm thick. Squires are around the 41/42mm mark. The extra mil is down to lacquer thickness.

Telling you mate its legit. If its original it will have a slightly deeper 57 tummy cut too. Their a uncommon series of guitars hence the confusion.

I'd hold out. You can get a brand new MIM Strat for not much more money.
Then you know exactly what you've got....no guessing or weird stuff. And you can hold and play it first.

I bought mine at GC brand new a few months ago for $294.00!

Good luck with your decision.

Actually only the Bullets and Affinities have the smaller bodies, all the upper level Squiers have the same body thickness as your standard Fender Body. Also that picture you posted of the Squier body couldn't possible be your guitar with an MIM neck. 1, the squier you posted had hot rail pickus, 2 that guitar had a 2 point bridge, all of which are absent from that guitar. Like someone said it is possibly an MIM Fender Squier Series. The Squier Series was always at the end of the headstock and most people just sanded it off. At 200 I might keep looking. Right now MF is running a 20% off all Fender and Squiers. You can get a Brand new Classic Vibe for around 280 Free shipping to your house. The Squier CV will have Alnico 3/5 pickups, Quartersawn neck, ping vintage tuners, generally better fretwork, medium jumbo frets. Or if you look long enough you can find a newer MIM used in that range.

I scour Craigslist daily, and about every week check ebay for great deals, but they never seem to come. I have honestly never seen 200$ MIM strats until this week. I think I am going to try it out this week, since it seems to be legit, and if I like it get myself my first Fender guitar. Hopefully it'll all work out. If y'all have anything else you'd like to say, feel free. If you still think it's bogus, or words of encouragement, I'm open. But here soon, you may see a post about how to mod this baby, or maybe not. But one way or another, I'm going to be a Fender owner.

Thank you all,
Alister

Yogi did you even read the post?
I posted a picture of my 3 american strats. A 57hotrod, a custom classic and a anniversary deluxe. Then seperately posted a picture of my squire series. Next time you seek to tell me I'm wrong, why not pay attention eh?

It was me who said the prospective guitar is a squire series. The series is a source of much intrest out of me. Hence the reason I spotted the squire trem. Noticed the logo and saw it coincided with the year, when those guitars out of mexico changed logo. The korean and japanese one always sported that logo. Never the black logo. The mexican squire series started using that decal in early 97 till they ended in 99.
