Gang, your comments are too kind :) Thank you all

The guitar is very nice sounding, I have allways wanted one all my life- I first played one when I was 16 just after christmas many moons ago. A nice guy I met who played in a church band that my best mate played bass in had an early example in torino red plus coupled with a 90's red-dialed twin amp.

I asked jokingly if he would let me play it, and he said he would lend me and my mate the keys to the church for half a day and he told me I was welcome to it.

So there I was- an inspirational moment, when it hits you like nothing before. A young 16yr old in a church with just my mate on the bass, no-one else. It was a stinking hot day- inside temp was like 30c and it must have been a 80%+ humidity in the air. Nobody around for miles as it was a semi-rural church, a red Strat Plus slung over my shoulder and I'll tell you all that I had that baby and the Twin cranked up loud like nothing else- and I was sweating buckets belting out Jimi songs for hours... OMG this was such a defining moment.. and thinking about it brings back good memories and a glad smile... :) That was when I decided I wanted a strat plus.

One word- Priceless

sounds like a good mastercard commercial :P n hahaha

Thanks for your kind comments too xhefri- you and your website are a true inspiration and your website has done nothing but fueled my GAS. I love the little section at the bottom of your main page about your Father too mate- Im sure you make him proud my friend :) I have yet to pull the neck off my Ultra too to verify the neck date- I will get round to it soon I promise.

And the tangerine deluxe, I have only seen 3 of that colour in the flesh. 1 P-bass deluxe, my strat and a 60th anniv with the zirconuim emblem V-neck.

I have seen some lucky bloke on these forums has a deluxe with matching C.Tangerine headstock... If we start a manhunt, I'd love to see pics of that guitar again as it's too damn sexy! :)

Wow, so they turned the keys of the church over to you to use...that's cool. What kind of church was it? Are you visiting there now from time to time after having such an "experience"?

Keep your eye on the website because in the next few days I will be posting more guitars, some Tele's, Strats, and Gibsons.....also over the holidays doing some more customs builds.

Cheerio mate!

Christian, it was a small humble church on a large block of land. My friend played bass in the band, and was leader in a youth group. They sometimes let him have the keys for a few hours every now and then to practice his songs.

My mate has since skipped town, and I visit a few times a year. The guy (I cant remember his name) had a 10,000acre farm north of Taupo, NZ. He was Imust say a very kind and trusting fellow to allow us the use of his gear. we had an absolute blast.

Hey Blertles,

Did you know a guy names Jono Lee who also lives in Auckland? He was a DJ at a radio station and played in a worship band at a large church there. He was one of the guys who worked on having U2 come there a few years ago. I remember he got backstage tickets and met Bono.

Jono bought a Lake Placid Blue Tele DX from me that I customized. Bad thing was someone broke into his car outside the church and stole the guitar and a VOX AC30. He was really bummed.

I lost touch with Jono. I visited him one time when I was in NZ doing some speaking appointments in both South and North Island. He gave me a Cd by Brookefraser, which I have sitting right here on my desk!

Ah, you triggered some memories!

This is the guitar that I sold him that someone stole:

I have heard of a DJ called Jono!! May be a different guy though im not sure. Man, I would be gutted if I had my gear stolen- especially A tele deluxe and an AC30!!
The good news mate is that a guitar like that would stick out like nothing else if it came up on trademe.co.nz which I keep an eye on.

Good to see you have a Brooke Fraser cd on your desk too, she is very beautiful and talented.

and yeah, NZ does leave an impression doesn't it

I think Ill pull the neck off the ultra this weekend and Ill post pics of the neck date for you on this thread aswell :)

I wish you and all on this thread a Merry Xmas. Please play safe and enjoy the family time :) spare a thought for those not so fortunate in this world- some people dont even know what christmas is folks :)
