I noticed the Fender logo looked a little bit close to the edge and being that it is an older HWY 1 I figured I would check with you guys to see what you had to say.

me too man, I just don't like the look of the large headstock. the owner of this one lives right up the street and I wanted to trade him one of my Teles for the HWY so I could have a Strat and a Tele

How about this one? I really dig this color but he says the frets have been buffed so I don't know if that means there are issues with them or not.

I like the blonde one better, but both are sweet looking guitars.

Good luck on your choice!

Not a bad price. Not cheap but also not a bad price. If you can afford it I'd jump at it since it might be a while before you see another like it.

Some of us like the larger headstock of the new HW1s. I was in High School in the late 70's and everything was larger than life back then; platform shoes, wide lapels, muscle cars, etc. You know, back in the days when wholesome girls had crushes on David Cassidy and we all boogied down Cool and the Gang? Maybe you weren't there. I was and that headstock takes me back to the days of Woodstock, Easy Rider and long legged women in hot pants and go go boots. I'm grateful that I can relive that period of my life without having to shell out for a vintage that I can't possibly afford on a priest's stipend.

Unfortunately I wasn't there, all I have to remember those days by is VH1 classics. I was born in 78.

The SZ prefix on the serial no' of the 2nd one is unusual, isnt it? the black trussrod hole surround too. I thought all american guitars had walnut.

Personaly I think the blonde one is the dogs danglies. Its got everything, the right colour, the right size headstock, the right trem and 22 frets.
If you dont have it, I may. I wouldnt worry about having 2 guitars of matching colours. I think its the way forwards. Especialy if their red ones.
