I have worn some serious trenches in the frets and will be needing a fret job soon.

I'm looking for the VERY BEST !!! place to get it done

I do not care about the price only that it is perfect when it comes back to me !!!!!

Can I send it to fender and have it factory done ?????

Thanks for any input you all may have.

You do not say what state you are in. As far as I know I do not believe Fender does refrets, I had my #1 ax refretted 6 years ago and I know how you feel as it took me 15 years to break that neck in where it fit like a glove.

I am in NY so I had a lot of premiere places to choose from but I wanted to make sure I got it done by the best. After asking a lot of friends and players 30st guitars in NYC was the place most reccomended. It is a pretty famous store and the owner Mat does most of all the serious jobs. Well let me just say I could not of been happier as it was done as perfect as could be.

It cost me $300 six years ago which was also a cheaper price than less established stores wanted, but there is a good chance it might be a bit more now. They deal with a lot of vintage and high end axes and have a nice website. I would believe if you are far you might be able to mail your ax but then you are going into shipping both ways and it is going to get real expensive. If you are in a state near NY I would say take the ride. If not check who is the best near you but the way I feel is the neck is the #1 playing aspect of a guitar for me and can be a deal breaker if something is wrong. So good luck and get it done right .

I live in a vast land of nothing, however Chicago is only about 60 miles to the west.

I would rather have fender do it in factory.

anyone had any experience with having fender do repairs such as this ????

I had a local guy refret my 1960's Gretsch Viking a few years ago and he did a great job, he has since gone out of bizz and so now I have no local choices.

P.S. the gretsch repairs cost me $200 and included some paint and binding fixes.

Fender has a repair facility in Tennessee Where I know they do pickup rewinds however I don't know if they do refrets.Jeff Krause at Fender may be able to confirm whether they do or not I believe his email is jkrause@fender.com although I'm not completely sure.
