Does anybody know where the name of Fat Strat model derives from? Or, to put it in another way, what is the difference between a Fat Strat model and a standard one?
I think I heard the body is thicker or something....Is it true?

Thanks

The body is the same. A Fat Strat has a humbucker pickup in the bridge position.

Yea, I know that about the humbucker in the bridge, but there must be something else too.
There are many other models with a humbucker in the bridge as well, but not all are Fat Strats. Why especially that one?
What I know for sure is that the body of a Fat Strat is 40mm thick. What about the others?

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, the bodies are the same. It's just a reference to the humbucker(s).

I use a Fat Mex Strat. The humbucker they say is better with distortion. Like previous post humbucker is positioned nearest bridge. It does give you alittle different sound.. A fat sound..I like it!
