Maple has a little more cut then rosewood, which is warmer. I have both. I go with rosewood and SSfrets so I never have to refret.

Whoa, dude, that is too cool. Forget the body! Just play the neck! Is there any type of finish on the neck to keep the aluminum from rubbing off on your hands???? What type of guitar is that?

Back in the mid 70's to the 80's Kramer made guitars that had Aluminum necks with wood inlaid.

Mine is maple. Looks great with the black body. I'm too new at this to give any educated comments regarding sound or durability.

Hi Jeff!

Nice to find you hang'in out here. Orville and I are getting a bit tongue in cheek here. If you only knew HOW many times this versus/versus ball has been batted about this cage, you'd join us in a brew too. 8)

The answer is obviously "it depends on the colour." I like rosewood with light-coloured Strats, maple with darker ones.

But if you're asking me my favourite, maple. Actually, I really like ebony best in general (must be the classical guitar background), but not on Strats.

Maple or Rosewood makes no difference to me. I like the old days when the good folks at Fender made the decision for us!
