I am looking to fix up a cheap Squier (probably made in China or Mexico) and I need to replace all six bridge saddles. My question is this - Since I am having problems finding a set of Squier replacement saddles, can I use the American Standard bridge saddles (the ones used prior to 2007, see pic below) instead? Will they fit properly without issue? The set provides its own screws.

Thanks for your advice!

No. The American Std. saddles are offset whereas the Squiers are not.

Thanks Martian! I will keep looking then... for some reason, these are harder to find! Worse case scenario I have found the entire bridge quite cheap, may replace the whole thing!

You're quite welcome.

You're probably better off replacing the entire bridge, premising all the holes of the new bridge line up and the string span is acceptable.

check at guitarfetish.com
should be able to hook you up with saddles.

look for the ones with the screw through the center rather than offset like in the am std.
