So I sold my 2005 Clapton Strat and bought a 1991 Fender Strat Plus Deluxe. Figured I could get another Clapton Strat later easier than finding another Strat Plus Deluxe.

I bought it from the original owner and according to the receipt, the color is Ebony Frost. I thought this guitar was an Ultra when I first say it on Craiglist. The guy just had it listed as a USA Made Strat, but when I talked to him he said it was a deluxe that he put a Red Lace Dually in. He gave me the original pickguard and red lace sensor though, but I'll probably leave it like it is, except maybe add a coil splitter. It also came with the original case and a Marshall Valvestate VS230.

The guitar is in really good shape, the guy said he hasn't played it since 1995. The guitar is almost mint, just has a scratch on the front :( and 2 very small scratches by the back strap button.

Here's some pics.

Wow your right it does look just like an Ultra. All it is missing is the little switch. Beautiful ax and best of luck. Also you are right in that you can gey a Clapton anytime. I am looking to sell mine myself for something else based on your reasoning.

I was going to leave the dually for now, so I would have to leave the pickguard. But I was wondering how a pearloid pickguard would look? I might to pick one up and try it out.

It plays great, the neck is very nice. Pups are a lot like the golds, but hotter and more punchy? From what I can tell so far. I sliced open the skin on my knickle of my index finger last week at work, so it's been in a splint to keep me from bending it and reopening the wound, so I haven't got to play as much as I wanted so far.
I noticed today that the pickups are wired wrong. I don't know if the guy wanted them that way, or messed it up when he put in the dually but the middle position of the 5 way switch is the neck pickup and the 5th position is the middle pickup, and position 2 is neck and bridge pickup. So I'll probably fix that when I can move my finger more.

Wow, great finish. I can't recall ever seeing a Strat with that finish before. Congrats on all the new gear!

I always liked the "different" Strats, and your new axe falls into that category. I do love the traditional SSS/Black/maple set up, but black and white Clapton Strats are easy to find, but the finish on your guitar is very rare. I can't recall ever seeing that color before. nice find, and good luck with it.
