My strat just isn't the same anymore! its only a year old and yet here are the problems im having and it just came back from a full set up/ check up...

American Deluxe strat

The sound is tinny and very week

I cant do 1 or 1 1/2 step bends on my e and b strings ( possibly truss rod issue but... just set up...)

my middle pickup shorts in and out...

Did you give it to an authorized Fender repair center? Is that the correct name for it?

This should get you there...
http://www.fender.com/dealerfinder/

I assume authorized dealers are repair centers too.

They are an authorized dealer but not repair center. There is one near by so I should probably go there. The people that set up my guitar were from a guitar center type place so they probably poorly set up about a hundred guitars a day.

Yep. Probably. The main ingredient to setting up a guitar is time. The second main ingredient is experience. Nothing beats a fine setup. I've taken the time to learn over the years to do my own. It's very intense. I do it when I have the house to myself for an afternoon.

Of course, compared to a setup, an electronics diagnosis is much more. I can solder, but diagnosis is another thing. They person who setup your guitar should have at least recognized the issue.

Even though you would think it does, unfortunately, that means absolutely nothing in terms of the tech's competency.
