Manabu....if you do go the noiseless route....BY ALL MEANS ...check put the DiMarzio Area series!! There are 3 to choose from....58, 61, 67....depending on your needs. I own them all and they're GREAT!!

Do you have an HS-4 (YJM)? I really like Yngwei's sound.

No I don't. I wouldn't have bought it anyway because of Yngwie association.
That's NOT the SOUND I'm after!
I respect Malmsteen and his IMMENSE talent, but (call me crazy!) I HATE his tone. To me...it's very tinny,.... too distorted for MY tastes!

Trust me...if you want CLASSIC Strat tones....the AREAs are the way to go!

donbt wanna hijack your thread .. but speaking of the HWY ONE HSS .. how come they never did one with a maple fingerboard ... its only rosewood .

:(:(

i would totally have bought one if it was maple .

i know the S/S/S are pre routed for humbucker but i dont want the extra $$$ to change the pickguard , pick up + a new set up by a tech .

I gotta give credit where it's due.

I'm a former MAPLE guy.

I bought these HWY 1 Strat HSS's with Rosewood fretboards......and I'm hooked!!

I have several Maple fretboarded guitars and to be honest....they seem waaay to 'bright' for my liking!
The roswood is much warmer and less ice-pick-y!

That's just MY personal findings..................

I also like the darker tone of rosewood. It's also easier to maintain I think.
