I think they help to keep you in tune a little better. The bullet end wont twist in the trem block the way that a string with the conventional end can. If you have a Callaham trem block installed in your guitar I wouldnt use the Bullets. They wont recess all the way into the block like they do in the factory block.

I have used many different brands of strings over the years. Ball ends VS bullet ends are a personal choice. I have been playing the Fender Bullet end strings for almost a year now, I really do not see a difference except when changing strings out. I know with ball ends I usually have to use a paperclip-sized wire to push the ball out of the trem block. I have not had to do that with the bullet end strings at all.

In the end it is just personal choice. You will hear more of a difference with Steel stings, Nickel strings, and blended strings or the guage of string as far as tone more than which end is on the string.

Use the Fender bullets, they seat better and are only five bucks, besides, I think there are only two string makers in the US that make strings for all guitars.

Don't think so. Where did you hear that one?

I like Super Bullets, but my main strings are GHS Boomers, still nothing against Super Bullets--I often put them on my Mustang--which has SB's on it now.

Thanks for all the replys. Although I was more concerned with how ball ends would fit the trem block, it's interesting to hear what strings you all use. Well, what I found was that my JV didn't have bullets anyway. Since I can't play it until Xmas, I worked on it. I added a shell pickguard and Callaham bridge/block. Pretty crazy for someone who can't really even play huh?

I tried bullets first when they came out, they "seated"so well in my 65 Strat that I had to push a couple of them out from the top with a long pin.I've always used D'Addarios with no problem.

I used an ice pick! Haven't tried bullets since.
