Does anybody know when the 2010 stratocasters get announced? And when are they available for purchase?
Do stores have "end of the year" deals on guitars where they try and clear the old stock away, say, like a car dealer would?
These are the things I'm thinking about right now...

I don't know when the 2010's will be available, but from what I have seen, any unsold guitars from the previous year(s) remain in inventory just like anything else untill they sell. I once saw an American Standard that had been in-store for almost four years without selling and it was not reduced in price at all.

I heard a romour that there were changes going to be made to the american deluxe range-

I dont think there will be any changes to the american standard line, maybe a bunch of new colours, if anything at all. there were already changes made to the line a couple years ago

I'm pretty sure it will be impossible to buy a 2010 guitar before Jan 1st.

I'd like to see proper saddles on the deluxe range, like the standards.

A better range of colours in MIA Deluxe too- they are just way too bland in my opinion...

especially the pearl white- I cant stand that colour

Some major stores have those end of year clearance. I just look at serial numbers. For example, my local GC has the Sienna burst tele deluxe from 2007 and have never lowered the price on it. If I wanted to call em out on it, I'm sure I could get a couple hundred $ knocked off the price. It pays to be patient sometimes.

@ Blertles:

thanks for knocking my Deluxe HSS color...but its true, i didnt go after that color but it was the only HSS Deluxe they had in stock at the time....and it played really sweet...i also didnt think the color was that bad until i seen it under different lighting, depending on the light it would change from white to what i call a light coffee and cream brown (big yuck).

as far as changes go for the Deluxe the only thing i would really like to see is more colors.

Yes you will catch stores on ebay selling the guitars as NOS. I bought two American Deluxes this year a Tele and a Ash Strat after the price hike and paid $1,070 and $1,080 for them. The Tele was an 08 and the Strat an 07 and both were as perfect as could be, and both also had there warranties since both came from legit stores

In about 2 or 3 weeks you might start to hear rumors. The 2010 Winter NAMM show is January 10th thru 14th? I think. Fender Reps will be contacting their dealers shopping for pre orders soon.

There is one at my local- exactly as you describe. I think it looks too aged in my own opinion, something that looks better on a flat white rather than a pearl. The guitar kinda looks like it has dust on it and it hasnt sold in the 2-3 years they have had it.
I love the HSS but maybe in a flashy CAR or turqouise or something...

Didnt mean to knock your colour- but I knew someone out there will have a pearl white strat that will read this :)

That's what I'm thinking. Looks like a variation on the HWY 1.
