Coronado II's are definitely interesting looking guitars. I'll bet they play superbly, too!

I once saw one on ebay in Antigua that was a real face-melter. It had "Antigua" written on the pickguard. I'm pretty sure it's characteristic of some of them to have their colour-type written on the pickguard.

Edit - Here's a quick pic I found:

I think it's nice, anyway

I have owned 2 coranados years ago. One coranado 1 and a coranado 2 the coranado 1 was a single coil pup at the neck and that was all the color was sunburst. i really liked it. but sold it. the coranado 2 had 2 single coil pups at bridge and neck and had a tremolo too. i really diddnt care for that one cos it was a (imo) ugly green and at the time, i was into playing ac-dc kinda stuff that the guitar couldnt handle. a friend of mine offered me a gibson melody maker for it. i was not crazy about melody makers at the time. he came over i opened up the gibson case and, realized it was an s.g. special. which i gladly traded him for the coranado. but i still wish i had that sunburst one back. oh well..that was years ago.

Yeah, I'd kill for one too. They have a couple of them at Guitar Center. They're just hanging there, tormenting me. Hopefully they'll still be there after Christmas in case I get any money.

There's a guy in the Phoenix area selling one on craigslist for $1500. A 67 too, so will have to watch and see what this one ends at.

I have owned one ..I'm sorry to say i just never got along with it..I have become a loyal Fender player and owner for sometime and i wish i could say i loved this guitar as i would still own a hollow body instead of looking to trade a Strat for one..But i just never cared for the tone or feel of my 67Coranado..I ended up trading for a very nice Marshall JCM 800 and a Vintage Fender bandmaster head and cab ..Which have now become main stays in my stage arsenal..

I just love those old Coronados that's a good price for the red one.
Question:Didn't Fender make some Coronados out of wood where dye was injected into the source trees as they grew?It seems to me they did and they were called the Wildwood or something, anybody know?

Love the Coronado guitars. I would love to get one myself, but that has to wait for now. Too much GAS, so little funds...ouch!

I can't justify myself for getting this guitar, but I will own this guitar some day, mark my words! Same color and everything, love it.

Not a fan of them really but you can definitely get your vintage vibe on without breaking the bank with one. I would definitely strike before the prices start to get out of reach.

i remember back in the late 70s early 80s how you could find gibsons at pawn shops cheap (i always wanted a stratocaster since i was a kid growing up on trower and hendrix and blackmore to name a few) tho never found one at the pawnshops i checked out. but anyway, at that time guitars were cheap in cost and guitars like the fender coranado and bronco and to certian extent, the mustang (which i owned one but thats a good story in itself) werent very popular with guitarists and you couldnt practically give them away. now look at them same guitars today sellers price wise. as for short, the reason i got the mustang back when was because it was a fender with the big headstock with that bold black decal on headstock which even today i think is soooo cool. other reason was cos it was the closest thing i could get to a stratocaster at the time. (i was 13) wish i still had that mustang still. it was a neat guitar.
