The lighting in these shots gave the gunmetal silver a slight green hue, the silver is awesome!

I just have to gush about this, i can hardly believe this. I spotted a post for this jem on the madison wi craigslist, and having been unaware of just how pristine the condition of this guitar is, i didn't rush after it, and even asked the lady who owned it to reduce her price of $650, to $600. She agreed to my offer, so i headed out to her office, to hear from her about how she only bought it new back in 97' because she has always been fascinated with strats, and imagined she would play it a lot, but as a bassist, she never got around to using it at all, and her school tuition was coming due soon, so she would now sell it. The guitar spent all these years in the original case, virtually untouched. When she opened the case, and i saw how clean this axe was, i couldn't get the money in her hand fast enough! I got this honey home , and she's a good as she looks, no fret buzz, action perfect, no fret wear, hardly even a mark in the pick guard!
Let the good times roll! I am one happy plankspanker! Now to find a great name for her! Any suggestions guys?

Thanks Sean, it's very interesting that you say once you go strat... because when i got this honey home, i sat down and played it without an amp, and man, you can call me crazy, but it felt like i have owned this guitar for years, the way it played smooth like butter, and the notes i picked as well as the chords strummed, sounded really good! i could tell right away that this axe has very special resonance, even unplugged! Yeah, i'll love her, no doubt about it!

Congrats on a really sweet deal! Enjoy! I bought my first Strat this year, a new-on-shop-wall 07 AmStd in black & rosewood. I wondered what to call her, and now she seems to be 'Wife #1'. I too fell for the feel of playing her, and now there are three more AmStds in my music room. I have found it true that no matter how much in love with the guitar you become, somehow there is always room for another Strat. If you surveyed the crowd on the site here, I'll bet single-Strat homes are in the minority...
