There's a lot of opinions regarding the Tremolo Arm Spring which dislodges quite easily from it's cavity. Personally, I like to have the tension on my arm so that I don't have to flail around trying to catch a swinging tremolo arm and missing my cue. Well, you guys are the best folks to ask so please enlighten me on how you manage that pesky little spring.

Put it into a bag in a drawer along with the trem arm.

When I travel with my guitar, I take the tremelo bar out and tape the spring in the cavity. If I ever lose it, I have more to replace it. I bought a pack of them and did not realize that 6 came in the package.

I don't use tape on the tremolo cavity anymore. I just make sure not to tilt my Strat in a way that the spring can fall out when I'm taking it out or putting it in its case. I do keep a supply of extra springs handy just in case, though.

Wrap the threads on the tremolo arm with teflon tape. Stash the roll of tape in your case. Toss spring in trash....... 8) Mike

I just cover the hole with a piece of tape whenever I remove the arm, being careful not to turn the guitar over.

I found several vendors which sell Fender OEM tremolo arm springs. I've been planning to order a pack just in case.

LOL! It's funny but nobody in the Guitar Center showroom seemed to know what I was talking about when I referred to the tremolo arm spring.

I never use the spring. I like my trem arm to be free moving.

Thats exactly my feelings towards the trem arm. When I dont want it, it has to be out of the way. Its nothing to grab it. The spring just puts pressure on the threads of the arm. You dont need any pressure on them, it will eventualy strip them.

This is, "par for the course" when it comes GC personnel. Yet, they all insist that they are guitar techs.
