Tried out an awesome american standard today, but i am almost sure i'll need to put a bucker in it if i buy. would putting a lil 59 in it totally kill that classic 2nd position tone? to be honest, that's my hands down favourite position. would adding a push/pull coil split help in reviving the 2nd position tone much?

I had a HSS strat with a coil tap on the bridge although not quite the same sound the 2nd position was still killer. I'm building a tele that I'm using a lil 59 in just havent decided if I'm going to tap it yet I plan on a seth lover style vintage fender bucker in the neck which is only a 2-wire so no tapping it.
