Post subject: Robert Cray Strat Truss Rod Issue

I can't get the truss rod to tighten enough to take out all the relief I want. I like a near straight neck. Anybody have this problem? It's like the hole was not drilled wide enough and the nut is binding up.

Welcome, Steve!

Frankly, I think you are skating on thin ice here. If the nut (and I presume you mean the truss rod nut) is binding, you're running the risk of stripping it and/or snapping the truss rod itself. It is better to be safe than sorry. Bring your guitar to an authorized Fender repair facility for evaluation.

Yeah. I pretty much decided to bring it in. Never had this problem with any other guitar. This axe sounds great. I got it because it's a hardtail. Thanks for your reply.
