for the past 8 months i have been battling with my american deluxe strat
it is beautiful and one of the best playing guitars (neck especially)
however the samarium cobalt p/u left alot to be desired
so my les paul and teles (ones had back then) got more play time
then i put some tex mex pickups in for a little dirt but still nice clean
sounds they were ok with the ts9 on but most of the time they were muddy
so i went out on a limb cause it is hard to buy pickups based on
soundclips over the net and tried the copperhead pickups
WOW!!!! TOTALLY DIFFERENT GUITAR
i owe Jeff Chevalier this review so if you are looking for vintage
sounding pickups that are detailed and dynamically clean and even better
when pushed hard and respond to pick attack and those elusive
piano/bell type tones look no further his site was called copperhead but
the name has changed to chevalierpickups. i have now tried
the 57s 59s and 67s all good and true to thier description plus you are contact with the owner of the company and the guy who winds the
pickups to your specs now that is custom handwound
just thought i would let my strat brothers in on this little secret
(but i aint tellin you the combo or switching setup i got on mine
but the custom shop boys woul be very proud)

Hi clem: I didn't know those pickups, no:

http://www.chevalierpickups.com/

But now I know about them, and knowledge is always good. Thank you for the headsup!

Cheers - C

Yes, I once saw this cover of SRV's Riviera Paradise, on the description it mentions copperhead pickups and I was really impressed with the sound.
Here's the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJDyS4vfx6Q
