ok heres what ive been noticing lately.
classic players 60s strat, >>through mxr dynacomp>>>ts808>>>bluesdriver>>>65 reverb fdr1>>>bassman
bassman has jumper cable from input 1normal chnl>>input 2 bright channel.

my question, im getting a small burst of static through the amp as im playing pretty randomly. also every now and then(this is weird) i would touch the pickguard and i would get static.

i play it through another amp and i dont get that.
i play my am deluxe and i havent heard it yet.

your help is appreciated

Take your shoes and socks off.

People are under a misconception that 60cycle hum is something to do with the mains. Its not its your bodies own electrical field interfereing with the guitar pickups. Thats why when you touch the strings it goes away. It earths through your guitar strings and into the electrical circuit. It sounds like your generating a static build up. If you take your shoes and socks off you will earth your own electrical field. You cant earth with rubber soled nikes on.

obviously, you narrowed it down to something with the amp since you tried other amps and the problem went away. My question would be are you using the same cable? Possible slight short in the cable?

Maybe the amp is not grounded correctly. Does the amp have a three pronged plug?

actually 1st strat,

the static doenst show up with my am deluxe strat. same setup.

at 1st thought, were the cables. im using monster cables.
im not deducing the amp yet, but so far im noticing it with the cp 60s only.

could it be the power supply?
i have my pedals and amp plugged using the walmart garden variety 6 outlet extension.

I would think that you would have the same problem with the other guitar then

A loose ground or lead in the guitar maybe????

I don't have a clue

hmmm, i had removed the back plate a while back.
do you think that maybe, my tshirt is transfering static to the springs thus giving me static issues.

maybe just my electric personality ey nik

The jack is loose or the wiring to the jack is faulty?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

ok i deduced everything, its down to thestrat.
my cp60s is causing the static.
moreso when i touch the pickguard.
it makes a crackling static sound. i tested it on 3 different amps. same situation.
i tried my am deluxe, am std, hwy1 and no static.
i may haveto take it to a tech.

Simple question but have you removed the plastic covering from the pickguard and trem spring cover plate? Rubbing those against clothing will build up a small charge.
