Was on a guitar repair shop website, was thinking of getting setup on strat just to iron out a few niggles, xmas prezzie for the strat, noticed on website he also does "low temperature wax potting" ( squealing pickup fix), not a problem I've got, just curious, not a term I've come across on this forum

Low Temp Wax Potting - I guess as long as the temp is just high enough to melt the wax so that the pickup may be fully immersed, that's sufficient.

I would have thought that this just refers to standard potting. Anyone know why the temperature would need to be higher?
