The bottom line is, if you find a guitar that inspires you, that makes you want to pick it up time and time again, and one that just feels like it belongs in your hands, then it doesn't matter who made it or what it looks like.

I have 2 and they are, by far, the best Strats I have ever played.

I'm sorry if I came off derogatorily against Road Worn guitars. You are quite correct, the bottom line is if your instrument inspires you. I'm happy that you have what pleases you.

Long before Fender's Road Worn series came out, relic guitars were out for a very limited market. Since the inception of the Road Worn series, there's been a boom of relic guitars. If all were up to the minimum quality standards of Fender then it would not be so bad but a lot of them are not. I'm always checking the auctions on eBay and the listing of relic guitars jumped more than ten fold. The stuff some people try to pass off as "relic" and "road worn" now are very obvious attempt to pass off a worthless clone at a premium price by taking a sander and blowtorch to it.

It's none of my business what other people should or should not play. I was only offering up my observation as this was the topic of the thread and I apologize if I came across harsh.

We are all entitled to our opinions without apologizing for them. If you own a particular piece of equipment and it works for you, that's all that counts. When I hear a negative opinion on a guitar or amp, most times I'll go try it out of curiosity and form my own opinion. Sometimes I like it sometimes not. I never get upset if someone doesn't like what I playing. It's mine I like it so who cares? The best Strat I ever played was a 66 hardtail and I didn't have the three hundred bucks at the time to buy it in 71. I the Road Worns are the best you ever played, congratulations and enjoy them!

Nah, I'm not offended in any way. It's all good. I played a handful of 'em before I found "the one" and a lot of you are right, there was fret sprout, the set up was terrible, etc. and they seemed severely overpriced for what you get, but man, when I found the right one, I would have been happy paying twice what I did. It was that good.

And I realize they're not for everyone but I think that's good. Fender make 9 thousand different Strats so there's one for everyone. This just happens to be the ones for me. There are plenty of guitars that I think look like crap or play terribly but for some people, they're the perfect guitar. It's all just personal preferences and if you can find the right guitar for you, that just means you can spend more time playing and less time searching for the one that speaks to you.

I've played more in the last 10 months than I have in the past 3 or 4 years...... and that's all because of this guitar. I think that's pretty damn cool.

I was given two different ones to try out by Guitar center over the course of three gigs over a weekend..I found both of them were very comfortable had excellent setup and feel..But i could not stand the Tex Mex pick ups..I would actual buy one of these if they didn't have the Tex Mexs in them ..But for $750 im not willing to pay that to then turn around and spend another $200 on pickups..That is just way to much money to put into a MIM Strat

I always believe the guitar finds you. That's how I wound up with an Ibanez AS73. It was hanging on a wall and it was used and cheap. I thought it was going to be a good beater. I found out later after I bought it the stock pups were replaced with Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P-90's. They looked like stock Ibanez pups. I got this thing for two hundred bucks and it plays beautifully.

So it's always worth trying a bunch out.

Totally agree,my first 2 guitars I just settled , not knowing any better and regretted both of them. The last 4 guitars I bought, I tried out tons before I bought .I know some guys like the tex/mex pickups.Personally I like the Texas Specials better, they have more bottom end, but less sparkle.
