Well, thank you mate, I will. I'll have a "Piledriver". Just the right nightcap for a 68 yearold. That's three fingers prune juice, two fingers vodka, and one finger....well.....never mind!
Doc

Administered with a syringe or as a cream?

Ew...

Well, for the first time ever i am actually disappointed in this thread:

Image

What kind of presentation is that? i understand you had to cater out, but what a letdown. it may only be coffee, but you still partly 'eat and drink' with your eyes!!

So building the neck, nice adventure. I wish i still had access to a decent workspace and tools. So I guess the 'Million Pound (or is it Euro?!) question is:
one piece neck, or is it getting a fretboard?

Great Scott, is the customer never satisfied?

OK, specially for you, Twelvebar, cos I know you have an involvement with matters drink related. I was taking a little turn through my cocktail book last night and came upon this one, the English Blackthorn. So called of course because it is on blackthorn trees that sloes grow, the berry used to make sloe gin.

I photographed the result because I have an idea orvilleowner is interested in gin based drinks, but I guess I have to post it now, before planned, to satisfy your requirements 12B. For those as care:

* A measure of Plymouth Gin (it actually specifies Plymouth in the recipe, I'm pleased to see).
* A measure of sloe gin
* A measure of Italian vermouth
* A dash of bitters. The recipe wants orange bitters but that can be hard to come by. I didn't have any to hand.
* Shake with ice:

There's also an Irish Blackthorn, but that is significantly different. ...I'll try that one tonight! :D

'Course, while I'm writing this post I'm not making guitar necks. :(

And just for the cheek in dissing my humble cup of tea you'll have to wait to find out about fingerboards, marker dots and any little "Ceri" neck making quirks. (Can't remember, has one of my necks been seen on this Forum before...?)

Cheers - C

That looks delicious......!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see what you come up with for the neck.
I didn't know you were going to make the neck,[/i]But I can't say I'm surprised. Not to tempt and mess with you but, what if you did little phoenix inlays for the neck markers???? Sorry I hope I didn't dig you a hole on that one. Great work so far Ceri.-N 8)

I might be wrong, but astonishingly I don't recall anyone making a neck on the Forum since it started. Can that be true? Weird. Let's put it right.

I believe it's true.

This I GOTTA see! 8)

Hi N: no - that don't put me in a hole. 'Cause I already know what's happening with the dots. Not phoenixes I'm afraid (that would out-cool PRS though, wouldn't it?) or any other kind of inlays. Very simple, but a tiny trick all of my own.

Stay tooned... :D

Ha - well from you I take it as gospel. Thanks!

BTW: that drink was really done with you in mind. Essentially, just another martini variation, but what the heck. Also, I did like your one with the bourbon in it, as it happened. I think there was a photo of that too, fifty or a hundred pages ago...

Later - C

Dumb comment of the day, I thought Sloe gin was an explanation of how long it took to distill.

I am also a Gin fan. I have never tried Plymouth, but they have it here, it's just expensive. I'll give it a go soon though.

How was the taste on the English Blackthorn?

Could the dot markers be little cocktail shakers...?
