Mmm - I seem to recall you know the answer to that.

I'm sure it need not detain us here.

BTW, Orville: you've been being very modest with your '54 Strat's pictures recently. The number of opportunities you've resisted to post those in the last few days.

And your '64. And your '74. If people but knew the company they keep here...

Cheers - C

Looks like a beautiful wine-burst Ceri. Nicely done.
Now we must move on to the consideration of a neck for that bad boy.

I dont think anything other than a vintage tint maple would look right on it.

See, I think a bound rosewood like :

would really accent the wineburst.

A bound dark rosewood would look good

Given the binding on the body, it makes sense.

Magnificent :D Can't wait for the final clear coats and the installation of the pups. BTW what capacitor is on the back of that preloaded bare knuckles sultan pickguard?
 And please tell me someone isn't parting out an Eric Johnson RW Strat already...although I think the pyrocaster would look nice with a bound rosewood neck.

I dunno. I think getting the binding of the neck to match the binding of the guitar may be a problem. If their different shades it may look odd.

Flame maple.

That has to be the best looking strat body I've laid eyes on. As I said before, Fender's Custom Shop Boy's would learn a thing or two from watching this whole thread! Great Job Ceri! Can't wait to see it all come together.

By the way, what's the neck type/profile going to look like???? :D :D :D

Flame maple.

Yeah that could be tough. I would say though, bound rosewood, but if not, vintage maple. unbound rosewood wouldn't look as good.

**Of Coarse if Ceri has any scrap from the top, he could get a rosewood board, and do a boarder inlay instead of true binding. just a nice sliver of that wood along the outside edges. And since he probably doesn't have long pieces, he could use short lengths, that only span from fret to fret. (If it sounds like a ton of work, it would be, but i feel confident ceri would be up for it!!  ) I have a high tolerance for other peoples' workloads!!

Sure he'd have to pull all the frets,do some careful chiseling, and re-radius the board, then refret the guitar, and do all the fret dressing but I'm sure he'd hold his audience captive doing so!! Oh and custom fret marker inlays too!!

Hey Niki!!...not to digress, but somewhere along the line, while we're waiting for the coats to dry, how 'bout give us a brief review of that acoustic you were blessed with.
