As I said when I gave you the body. The worker deserves his wages.

Though I do think you've picked the colour just to make me regret telling you to keep it.

I'd have been tempted to leave the back white or off white. Maybe even antique white and have it look like a rhubarb and custard gobstopper.

If this was left looking like rhubarb custard gobstopper, how about a couple Golden Arches to complete the Ronald McDonald look....

Yeah put the arches on the backplate and a bigmac emblem on the headstock.

I think we'll be seeing the ferrari horse make a reappearance for this one.

No further comment - 'cept to say I have never had a rhubarb & custard gobstopper - but I want some right now! I wonder where to get them...?

Oh, and Nick: I am obviously honorbound to give you this guitar back any time you ask for it. Will that be before or after the hardware goes on? :D

Plenty of spraying today but little in the way of pictures to show for it. To recap, here was my annoying little paint run (dark mark on the side just below the rear neck screw hole):
Image

Here it is sanded out, luckily without going through to the white below. Equally difficult to photograph clearly - what the heck is it about cameras and red? (rhetorical question):
Image

After respraying the run and then all over the back and sides some more, here it is with this stage complete:
Image

And photographing against the light hopefully shows how nice and smooth the lacquer is by now. All that tiresome work on the white build layer seems to have paid off: no need for knocking back from here on in, I hope. Hey, my control cavity cover fits quite nicely, don't it? :) :
Image

And for the umpteenth time, this is not the finished look of the guitar. Just a step on the way. Soon as this red has hardened overnight we can do a couple of little jobs and then get on with the final transparent color layers.

End game approaching!

Cheers - C

Great work Ceri, that is a really unique colour. I can't wait to see the clear coat on there buffed to a mirror finish. It's going to be fabulous.

To show my my love for this thread. I am incapable of not following this. I am currently sitting on the "Lanai" or balcony of our rental condo in Kihei, Maui. It is a beautiful 27C or about 78F, sun shining and I am enjoying my morning coffee and looking at the sanding efforts of Ceri.

Keep up the good work. I really can't wait to see more.

Hi Pringle420: my wife was just looking over my shoulder as your post arrived. Made us both grin with pleasure - thank you kindly. And BTW, your view is gorgeous! Enjoy your coffee...

Get your --- over to Wailaia Shops and check out Gerard Marti's venue. He has one in Lahaina as well. Sell's all manner of music and performance related art. Tell him the doc who bought the signed Fleetwood Mac guitar and also ordered the special Stevie Nicks project several years ago sent you.
Where exactly are you located?[/quote]

The establishment goes by the name 'CELEBRITES'
