A little something to hold you over until Ceri returns.

Wow... Did he smash the guitar for show or does he need some "anger management"? And then did it again at another show? Ummmm....

Wow. Seeing this thread and that Gibby slide show makes me wish for two things. The ability to be able to pay for someone that skilled to work on a guitar of mine and more importantly the skill to be able to do it myself. I could watch stuff like that all day.

What a complete and utter tool Caleb Followill must be,it goes to show what can happen when an immature cerebral Lilliputian reaches stardom.People like him become like spoiled rich kids who break their favourite toy knowing that Mommy and Daddy will make it right, then for him to go and do it again, this twit has a lot of maturing to do,these tantrums won't endear him to anyone.I was very impressed with the repair job but if Followill wrecked the same guitar in his latest outburst and I was the tech who fixed it the first time,I'd tell him where to insert it if he came back looking for a refix.

......and exactly how do you rate the greatest guitar cyclotron of our time, Pete Townsend, in all of this. :?:

Surely the same judgement must apply to every guitarist that breaks a guitar onstage. Including Hendrix and Townsend. Hendrix did it for showmanship, something he regretted later on. Townsend did it out of pure anger and frustration.
I dont see how either example is any more idiotic than this Caleb Followhill's buffonery. Just think if Hendrix didnt smash guitars we wouldnt have a load of people thinking the monterey pop strat was something to do with some dancer.

Certainly never understood the motivation for such wanton destruction however, in the TV series. "The History of Rock and Roll" I believe, the question was put to Townsend, and his response, quite unprintable here, was sufficient explanation for him, at least. :(

I think it is flat out dumb to break guitars.....but....
But this guy took his #1 and threw a fit like a little brat . And had to take it to get fixed.
I maybe wrong in saying this but I don't know of any times Hendrix and Townsend had a temper tantrum a specific beloved guitar and then had to take in to be fixed. Were't they actually given guitars specifically for destruction? Kind of an advertisement idea.?!?!

That is what I was thinks when I posted. Was this a temper tantrum or for show....everything points to: a fit because he was not getting the sound he wanted! i have a friend who likes to golf. Going with him is a total embarrassment because if he has a bad day, he slams his driver on the ground, throws his putters across the green and yells a lot.....LOL! Take on of my old Gibsons and smash it? The guy should have been flogged!!!
