As you probably know, wild times lead to wild moments of remorse a lot of the time (look at that guitar body for a example). I had done something utterly reprehensible one time and had to make amends with myself (Luckily I was the only person I ever wronged badly). I was utterly convinced that I wasnt capable of living a normal life and being a normal person. Consequently I turned to the church for help with a view to getting myself out of the path of such opportunities to get myself in trouble. With my usual in for a penny, in for ten million pounds thought process's. The priesthood seemed the logical conclusion.

This has been a great thread and I really look forward to seeing the final project. Man, i just do not have the patience to do this kind of work. I guess I will stick with custom wiring and some refinish jobs.....

To which denomination do you belong if I may be so bold?

It was a carreer path I considered for myself many moons ago, for various reasons.

Yes I'm a Strat toting priest. To be more precise, I am a Vedic monk and I reside in a temple. You can find more details about my beliefs and where I live at: http://www.myspace.com/arhat108. I also have music from our band in the playlist on my site. The name of our band is the Temple Bhajan Band and our specialty is to perform Vedic hymns that are as much as 5000 years old. I concider myself very fortunate because all of my dreams as a child and as a young adult has come true with no real effort on my part just by taking shelter of my temple.

Ah old Hinduism, A beautiful people for sure. Wasn't Bodhidharma basicaly of Hindu belief? He came out of India to teach chinese monks to excersize and meditate at the same time.

I'm quite scetchy on all that.

Manabu your myspace link doesnt work. I'd love to see/hear more.

I did a YouTube on "Temple Bhajan Band" Pretty interesting....I have been to India about 15 times and to Nepal several. Brought back some memories. While I have good friends that are Hindu or variant forms of such, I gave it up years ago. Blessings!

If I ever win a lottery my first order of business will be to get a BRG XK120-150 Jag and a Jaguar Strat, that's without a doubt the most impressive looking Strat I've ever seen $24,000 seems like a good price considering the price of some other extremely limited edition guitars.

Yikes! sorry about the link. http://www.myspace.com/arhat108

You've got your history smarts! Yes Bodhidharma maintained the disciplines of astanga yoga but threw out all of the dogma of Hinduism, opting for The Buddha's Mahayana teachings. When Bodhidharma got to China he saw that everyone was weak from praying and fasting too much. The yogic postures and exercises that he taught became the foundation for Chi Gong and Wu Shu which ultimately evolved into the Kung Fu of the Shao Lin Monks. I was actually born and raised in Okinawa, Japan, not India, but I was brought up on a Japanese Buddhist started by the monk Nichiren until my conversion to Vaisnavism in 1983. Since then I've been a bead toting Hare Krishna.

Wow! Thanks for checking us out :D

We are a bit off the beaten path but we have a good following in the yoga circuits. We play in local yoga studios and events here in Southern California as well as shows up and down the country. We had a stage at the 2003 Lolapllooza, we had a guest spot on the Concert for George Harrison Anniverary, we have one award winning single and two award winning album. All by the grace of God. So I'm a grateful little lap dog :D Alas, only one song has guitar. My primary function is heading up the backup vocals and playing the Karatalas--hand cymbals. Our regular site is www.templebhajanband.com. You can see our discography of 6 CDs. I've got a lot of soundbytes and a few full length mp3s you d/l for free.

I've yet to go to India, Los Angeles is foreign enough for me LOL

God's love :D

:D

Now Japanese warrior caste is something I am very intrested in. My uncle was trained in Wado Ryu by Tatso Suzuki. Consequently his life is dominated by Japanese culture. (you should see his garden and fishpond. The pond is 8.5 feet deep to 12.5feet deep and populated with some monster Koi. Of all the arts Japan seemed to have the most sensible join of sacred and martial aspects. From the way samurai were segregated and treated as lords (through fear a lot of the time, i'll admit), to the Sumo's status of near divinity.

That would look jaw dropping with a rosewood board on it.

There's a guy I know in Florida who's gonna love this one.

Did you see the price £15K/$24K???

I refused one this time last year for £12K and bought a Baja telecaster instead (its had a lot more play than a Jag strat would have done). I could of made a £3k/$4800 profit on that in a year. There cant be many things legal where thats the case?

oh, i love the baja telecaster.....

When I moved from Japan to Hawaii in 1976 I went through total culture shock. I had been to America before as a little child but now I was a freshman in high school. I went crazy over Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Ted Nugent, Van Halan, Juda's Priests, Rush, Styx and Queen. At first I had problems understanding the words but I really felt the guitar. I asked my mother if I could have a guitar and her response was' "Why? You don't even know how to play one!" I wanted to have a guitar so bad that I moved out as so as I got my high school diploma. :D
