Well how about calling it "the Recoverycaster", or the "Lazaruscaster".

Give it a phoenix paintjob. I'll get the neck sorted.

A True Fire Flames paint scheme like this would be cool-

Well you've certainly touched on the derivation of a name...
"Ceri's Phoenix"

Put it this way: we need to get some flames onto this thing in some form or another, right? Let's think...

Till tomorrow

Great work Ceri. Really a thrill to watch it come back to life.

On the topic of flames. How are you with an airbrush? Nothing over the top, but perhaps some nice "ghost" flames, maybe even a phoenix as Doc said, ghost flamed onto the back.

Again really nice work. Look forward to seeing more.

Ceri, here's a nice line drawing of a phoenix that might look good on one of your custom-etched neck plates:

This is a royalty-free image from a site called Kids' Korner. I used this very image as the basis for an Air Force unit coin I designed a few years back.

Anyway, I thought you might like this.

Brilliant work, by the way! 8)

Lay this on a white pearl finish. It would look elegant.

Ceri, you have a way of making this look easy. It also looks like you have an entire Guitar E.R. in your shed! I am anxiously awaiting the finished product.

This is a great group here. I have learned much as a guitarist, amatuer luthier  (thanks to Ceri and others), and as a person. Keep it up gentlemen and ladies.

It seems like the problem with doing flames on this guitar would be getting around the pickguard unless you plan on incorporating it into the paint-job. Otherwise the effect isn't a whole lot.

I saw this one online that goes around the issue:

There's also this one, which I think might be pretty cool:

If you took just the top portion of this (nevermind the bottom portion of the design), and ran flames around the top half of the guitar front, sides, and back, I think that would be cool. Now imagine it with the bottom half in Daphne Blue, flames in Surf Green, pinstriped (or edged) in Cream.

Or possibly another combination. But I think it would be cool to keep with traditional Fender pastels for this guitar. Although I personally don't find pastels to be my favorite for my taste, if I saw something like that, it would most likely change my mind.

Cmon then lads I need some input.

I cant finish this neck anytime soon. Its the wrong time of year, funds aint great, I'm struggling for a place to work on it.

The blues jr is going on ebay, so what neck shall we have on the guitar? I was thinking a phoenix at the 11'th, 12'th, and 13'th frets would look good. I saw a scorpion on a all black showmaster once. It looked great.

How about hardware Ceri isnt the biggest fan of gold bits (i assume he prefers bars made out of the stuff). I just dont think silver or black would suit a flamed paintjob.

As far as a name for the guitar, I like Toastercaster..

So Nikki, are you asking for ideas about an inlay for the neck??

YZFJOE, thats some killer flame painting that guy does. It would be cool on a guitar.
