Ceri, a friend directed me to this forum to see this thread. I literally sat here for close to 4 hours this afternoon going over it. I signed up just so I could leave this message. What an incredible job you performed on what any other person would have tossed into the dumpster. I would like to thank you for taking the time to get all the pics, sort through them, upload and make your commentary. God knows you probably put in more hours uploading pics than you did working on the guitar. Fantastic, man, just fantastic. Going over this thread was like watching a soap opera. I was so wanting to jump forward to see the outcome but held myself back to the end. I was so giddy around page 50 I thought I was going to pee in my pants. hehe!!!

Again, great job on the guitar and thank you so much for taking the time to walk us through it.
MULLY

With all that, he runs the cord between the strap and the guitar body.

THANK YOU so very much, Ceri. Thank you for documenting this amazing journey, and for all the information that you have shared with us. Not only have I enjoyed following this thread, but I can't tell you how much I have LEARNED about the guitar-building process. It's been invaluable to me. So much so that I have decided to attend a guitar-building course that a local custom-shop is holding this summer. I have been "on the fence" about it, and seeing your project has inspired me to go ahead and do it.

BRAVO SIR, and again- THANK YOU for sharing in such detail. You are an invaluable resource on this Forum, and obviously a MASTER craftsman. BRAVO!

Somehow I stopped getting e-mail updates on this thread toward the end. :? Ceri I think everyone else has said it already, but thanks for sharing, and may that guitar give you a lifetime of pleasure. You deserve it. I also hope that Niki will get an opportunity to see it and play it in person sometime. Without the two of you this thread would not have been possible. Thanks again...

I've been meaning to comment on this thread, but I've been really busy with band stuff Ceri. The guitar turned out killer dude!! This thread has been great to come back to and update on. Congratulations on a job well done, and many happy times with your newly re-modeled guitar.

Hi Ceri,As I have been on vacation the past couple of weeks I haven't been able to see the finished result of the resurrection 'til now,I can't possibly put into words how astounded I am by your technical brilliance, you most certainly are a gifted luthier-a bona fide artiste. Congratulations on a job better than well done I tip my hat to you.Any time you feel like resurrecting a 65 Strat that was ruined by poor restoration attempts I know where there is one and I don't have to look farther than my music room.
