Thanks for the filler update. I was wondering what happened when I saw the picts with the pickups installed. So now we have the "rest of the story." Very cool...a work of art. BUT I do have a question. Is there something stamped inside the neck socket????

Well I am just dismayed that you haven't committed all 88 pages ( :!: ) of this thread to memory (jk)!

Hey, eagle eyes, though. 8)

Back on page 45 I mentioned how I used to hide a decal in the neck pocket to potentially help at some point in the future distinguish a body of mine from anyone else's. But now instead I use some letter and number punches to "brand" the name and serial number in there - nobody is going to be sanding those off!

And to save you checking back, here's the photo. In my self-effacing way I may have neglected to show the finished maker's mark...

Notice how the Blue Badger keeps his secrets secret. Were just not going to see that neck pocket stamp. .

No doubt details of it are committed to microfilm and planned to be exchanged at a midnight rendevous in st Petersburg by men in trenchcoats and hats with the brims pulled down.

Well, I do remember you "mentioning" the neck pocket stamp, because of those cool letter punches. I have a very old set that were made for putting serial numbers in plate steel, or motor blocks by thieves....I have used them to make serial numbers for several things (all legal of course! ). Anyhow, point is, I was wondering what was stamped! But we know it is a trade secret, which I respect! So I will have to use my spyware, zooming software to get a close up of the pict! :-p LOL!

Hi RR: or Krafted in Peckham. Then it could be a KIP - known to the world as a kipper... Shall we do a few pages of fish jokes now? I have 'em ready... :D

Xhefri: I have a feeling you might have just got an email concerning some volcano pictures from ZZDoc that may also be found to contain my personal address at the top. The decal and other marks on this guitar have been worrying you a fair bit, so drop me a line and I'll respond with the unexpurgated pictures...

(I have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a let down after all the waiting. :( )

Cheers - C

Well if your not happy with it, I know someone who'd give you a couple of quid for it.

Erm - I meant the discovery of what my decal looks like. Though if anyone wants to give me a couple of quid a throw for that - hey, I'll happily turn out my own pirate Made By Ceri In Peckham decals!

Now. I want all the non-photographers here to get ready to stick up for me when my feeble shots of the finished guitar appear... :( ...

Cheers - C

The KIP Cericaster prefers kippin' on its back. Beautiful plumage...

But will it also say "ORIGINAL Eanlaun Badu"? The true connoisseur accepts nothing less. 8)

The anticipation is killing me. The biggest if not only downside to this thread, is that there are 100 people min. that want to play this guitar, that will never get the chance. Imagine Getting the chance to play a Ceri One Off! What an honour. It is a real thing of beauty.

Ceri, I am sure you will enjoy the fruits of your labour. The Blue Strat might have to take a back seat for a while.

So... now that there are really not too many secrets left. What kind of strings are you planning? And why?
