I've seen the Rock and Roll HOF concert twice now. What a concert!!! The thing that I loved was the combination of artists. Stevie Wonder with Jeff Beck, Billie Gibbons w/ Beck playing Hendrix!! CSN with Jackson Browne, U2 with Mick Jagger and Fergie(yes she is hot). The weirdest pairing was Bruce Springsteen with Tom Morello. There was Morello doing his crazy guitar antics over the ballad of Tom Joad!! It was surreal!! Miami Steve with Nils was cool too. Oh yeah, what the hell was John Legend doing up there? What the F%*#!!!
Now lets talk guitars!! The Edge always has an awesome arsenal of axes, which he played a few. Billy Gibbons playing a pinstriped Les Paul Goldtop, Sting playing an old, beat up Fender bass, Bono playing a big hollowbody Gretsch, Beck playing his cream colored Strat, Morello playing his mutant beast, and he can rip!!! U2 bass player(forget his name) playing an old Gibson RD, which you never see nowadays. Very cool!! Plus all the Strats and teles, too many to list. Oh yeah, and Bonnie Raitt playing some Gigantic Guild acoustic that sounded sweet.
If you like music, you will be riveted to the TV like I was.

Paisley strat. You just told it like it was man. I was just as glued to the tv and loved all the pairings of artists but you left out metallica and their performances which I loved

Great show. I absolutley love Jeff Beck.

Too bad they didn't have it here, in Cleveland, WHERE THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME IS!!!!@#$%^&*(!!!!
I know Cleveland sucks but if you are going to have a show for the Hall why not have it at the Hall. Just my hulmble opinion.

Jeff is playing the best he's ever played. He's a marvel, always progressing, unlike many of his esteemed colleagues.

That's one of the reasons I like him so much. He tries new things and excells.
He truly changes the way one can look at blues guitar.I hear he only writes an album when he is ready to build another car. ...must be nice to have that kind of comfort and flexability. But he deserves it. 8)

I just finished reading "Crazy Fingers", his biography through the 90's anyway, and it's a very good read!

I hope I'm still breathing at 65, let alone playing like this!

I may have to ask Santa for that for X-mas. I didn't know he had a biography out.
Thanks for the info Mike!

this is pretty much why I have no interest in seeing the concert. Them allowing guys like L Cool J, John Legend and others that aren't rock n roll to perform really ruins it for me and just turns me off. It's like you can't have anything musical anymore without HAVING to LET a hip hop or RNB clown get in on it.

I would have loved to see Buddy Guy play though, he is one of my favorite guitarists.

I can't believe I missed all that! :x I just got to see the tail end of Stevie Wonder and Jeff Beck. I guess that's what youtube's for... If only my computer was as nice as the HDTV with surround sound that I could have been watching it on.

I was there on the second night and Jeff Beck was really amazing. Its the first time I've seen him live and he was just mind blowing. Every note he played was magic.
