So a bit ov buzz is normal?

Only if your guitar needs a setup. Dead/bad string. Twisted neck. Nut problem. Saddle problem. Flat fret. Risen tongue. Hump. Harmonic sympathy vibrations.

None of my guitars have buzzing (Gibson & Fender). I set up by pressing the strings down at the first fret and which ever fret meets the guitar body. I set the truss rod so there is .030" gap at the middle fret. May need to tweak whenever I go to different gauge strings.
This has worked flawlessly for me for over 40 years and tells me if the neck is in good condition. Some of my guitars ave some very heavily scalped frets too from normal wear and tear. That shouldn't make any difference either.
