I recently bought a Jimmy Vaughn with the Tex mex pickups.
There are the new Bill Lawrence Noiseless, but there is zillion other set ups and pickups, what is noiseless and sounds the best?? This is my second strat. I have played Gibsons all my life and hate strats because the middle pickup is where I pick, and I always run into the volume know and turn the guitar down accidently. I am trying to train myself to be able to play it and it kind of goes with the 65 Super Reverb I bought. I run the les Paul through a Prosonic, which is my favorite. But , the strat will be played through both, Pedals with the Super and onboard gain on the Prosonic. 8)

I would leave the Tex-Mex on the guitar.

Probably will, I like the Pearloid Pick guard and think it would look good front and back on this guitar, but looking at it closley, it only has 8 screws where the norm is 11????

My suggestion is a Dimarzio Area '58 and Area '61 combination.

I played (and still do) a Les Paul for 20 years and got my first Strat this year as a project guitar. The stock pickups were decent, but hum like you would expect from a single coil.
I tried several combinations and am in love with the DiMarzio Area '58s in my strat. They give that stratty sound I could never get with humbuckers (my Les Paul) but they are quiet (they are stacked single coils).
The combination I ended up with is an Area 58 in the neck and bridge and and Area 61 in the middle. This gives a pronounced difference between the neck and middle sound as well as creating a really sweet sounding "Quack" in positions 2 and 4.

8 screws is the vintage one-ply pickguard '50s style.

I like weaker pickups in a Strat for more shimmer and sparkle.
I have a set of Fralins, unwound to about 5.7k ohms, in mine.
