I recently outfitted my old squire Strat with all new electronics and new pickups,

I have two humbuckers, Ibanez INF4 and INF3 wired to a 500k master volume and two 500k tone, (one for each pickup) and each tone pot is a push pull for coil tapping, Each tone pot has a .047mfd cap. With a 3 way switch

I used this diagram
http://www.guitarelectronics.com/produc ... _Taps.html

So i plugged it in, everything is working. except the volume doesnt completly turn down, like it lowers volume till the knob gets to about 3 and it does nothing past that. The guitar always has some volume. I thought i might have the wrong value pot, but i'm unsure.

Also the switch when in position 2, there is a very large volume boost. everything still works the way it should its just much much louder in this position. I doubt this is normal. And what might be my problem be?

All help is appreciated,
Trukis,

I would just check the wiring again thoroughly. It almost sounds like the ground lug on the Volume pot isn't grounded. Or it could be that a wire going to one of the switch lugs is in a wrong spot.

I don't know.. Just some guesses. It sounds like you're describing the volume pot acting as a tone pot.

If nothings crossing and its done properly... this should work?
I was afraid i got the white and red wires backwards

EDIT: just in case: the black is ground. and the grey is white wire. Hot.
