hello all

i was wondering if you can help me out here, found a old guitar when helping clear out a freinds loft, we've narrowed it down to a 1979 to 1981, we think but are not 100% sure, fender strat, however the headstock is throwing us off a little as its different from the standard headstock.

could anyone date this guitar for sure and give any information on it please

My other guitar is a Strat.

Thats a Fender (The Strat) model that was only produced from 80 to 83 .Nice find. It is one of the last of the CBS model guitars. It had a smallers and matching head stock, gold hardware I never saw to many with rose wood necks so that is cool. That is a very nice find and I would hold onto it. You usually see a few on ebay and there always moded out and sell in the $1,000 to $1,400 range. It looks in great condition and stock in candy apple red. Way to go guys.

The guitar looks stock. That is good as it significantly increases value (as lots of them were modified). Nice find ... Keep it stock, and get a proper case for it if you do not have one.
