Layed off 1 year to date. Fell in love with a 50th. anniv. deluxe strat, tobaccoburst ash bod. used $900.00. Thinkin, of selling siennaburst strat ash bod., which I love also, looks, tone and light weight. I seem to always miss old giutars as much as I love the new purchase. what to do?

I would the 50th anni with gold hardware and emblem'd case is looking like its price is rising. I saw one for sale for £1485 ($2447) a couple of months back. A unrealistic price in my book particularly for a modified one

Heres a more realisticly priced one for £995 ($1639)

The price of em in England has risen. I paid £900 for mine. As you know your getting a great guitar with a deluxe anyway. If you dont like the pickups, swap the whole scratchplate out.

I'd go for the 50th ann. model I bought one new and I love it,it plays beautifully and sustains like a Steinway. The only thing that I'm on the fence about with it is that the rear tone pot affects the bridge pup too,it's the 1st Strat I've seen with that setup and I still can't make up my mind whether or not I like it.

+1 for the 50th models, they are really solid. But only get it if it plays as well as your Sienna.

Thanks guys, think I will, hopefully its still there. I've been upgrading my gear the last few years, why stop now. Plus it has the s-1 switch which opens up more options on different tones. enjoy the holidays and merry x-mas to all.

Dont put to much value into the S1 switches options and sounds. It's not for everyone. Personaly I love it and have 2 strats and a tele with it fitted. The traditional strat s1 wiring can be subtle. That said it does provide some intresting sounds if your prepared to work the controls a bit.

The 50th anniv. sounds excellent. As beautiful as Sienna Sunburst is, I would sell the strat if it meant getting that deluxe.

Do it like a band-aid, it'll only sting until you get the other guitar

I don't have a 50th anniversary model, but I do have an '08 American Deluxe. I love everything about the guitar. The neck is perfect in every way and I love the SCN's (I'm assuming thats whats on the 50th Ann. Dlx). I know those pickups are not for everyone but I've really grown to dig the sounds I'm able to get out of them. The S1 switch is also pretty cool. I don't use it that much but I do use it occasionally to throw in a different tone here and there.

Been doing alot of soul searchin'. The 50th. deluxe is one of those guitars that jumped out at me, and bonded with me within the first 10 minutes. The last guitar that did that was my main axe (06 butterscotch deluxe tele). Thanks for the input.
